New member at INOVACEL research team

Rodrigo Carreira has a degree and a master in Biology, as well as a PhD in Immunology.

Conducted research in the field of neurodegenerative diseases using in vitro and in vivo models, as well as in mitochondrial biology, focusing on antioxidant defense systems.

He is part of the INOVACEL project and his work involves establishing new cell lines derived from fish and marine invertebrates, as well as developing media formulations using ingredients from microalgae

Annual General Meeting of the INOVACEL project

The meeting provided an opportunity to review progress across the project, including ongoing work on marine cell line development, microalgae-based alternatives for animal components in cell culture media, and the reuse and valorisation of the spent culture media within a circular economy approach. Key results achieved so far were discussed, fostering technical alignment and shared reflection among partners.
