INOVACEL presented at Blue Think Conference 2026

This work is part of her doctoral thesis and involves the Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR), the collaborative laboratories S2AQUAcoLAB and GreenCoLab, and PhytoBloom – Microalgae by Necton, within the scope of the INOVACEL project.

By cultivating microalgae in spent cell culture medium, an effluent generated by the cellular agriculture industry, this work explores a more sustainable approach to managing this waste stream. The approach contributes to the development of a more circular and sustainable bioeconomy by valuing spent culture media while exploring their potential for added-value microalgal biomass production and bioremediation.
