The INOVACEL project took part in the latest edition of Aquaculture Europe, in Valencia.

The researcher Joana Rosa (@joanatrosa)(S2AQUAcoLAB) presented “Advancing Cellular Aquaculture by Establishing Meagre (𝘈𝘳𝘨𝘺𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘶𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘶𝘴) Cell Lines and Developing a Circular Bioprocess Using Microalgae” in the Aquatic Food Systems session.

The work highlighted the establishment of cell lines from meagre, a commercially valuable yet underexplored aquaculture species, and the integration of circular processes with microalgae for the production of cultivated seafood. This approach represents an important step for cellular aquaculture, while promoting more sustainable, innovative, and resource-efficient solutions for the future of food production.
